Warranty and Terms of Repair Service
These terms and conditions outline the agreement between iRepair Experts (“we”, “us”, “our”) and the Customer (“you”) for all device repair services.
By booking a repair or using our services, you agree to these terms.
1. Definitions
To make this policy clear and consistent, the following terms are used throughout these Terms of Service:
BER (Beyond Economical Repair): When the cost of repair is higher than the current market value of the device.
Customer: The person or organisation authorising iRepair Experts to perform a repair or related service.
Faulty Part: Any component deemed defective or malfunctioning by iRepair Experts or the manufacturer.
Personal Information: Any confidential data provided by the Customer during the repair process.
Services: All repairs, diagnostics, data recovery, and related services performed by iRepair Experts.
TAT (Turnaround Time): The estimated time required to complete a repair.
Warranty: iRepair Experts’ 12-month protection covering both parts and labour for repairs we complete.
This warranty does not apply if the device is accidentally damaged, dropped, or exposed to liquid or water after repair, or where the Customer supplies their own parts, as iRepair Experts can only guarantee parts we provide.
2. Warranty – Your Peace of Mind
At iRepair Experts, we take pride in the quality of our repairs and the reliability of the parts we use.
Every repair completed by our team is backed by a 12-month warranty covering both parts and labour.
Please note: This warranty does not cover accidental damage, drops, water/liquid exposure, or repairs where Customer-supplied parts were used. If you provide your own part and iRepair Experts charges only for labour, no warranty applies to either the part or the labour.
2.1 What Our Warranty Covers
- The warranty applies only to the specific parts replaced and the workmanship involved in your repair.
- If a fault occurs within 12 months related to the replaced part or our workmanship, we will repair or replace the faulty component at no cost.
- Warranty claims are handled promptly, depending on parts availability and the current repair queue.
2.2 What’s Not Covered
Our warranty does
not cover:
- Accidental or physical damage (drops, cracks, pressure, bending, etc.) after repair.
- Liquid or moisture exposure after repair.
- Software or data-related issues, including corrupted systems and lost files.
- Battery degradation, general wear and tear, or age-related decline of components.
- Damage caused by third-party accessories, faulty chargers, cables, or power surges.
- Faults caused by unauthorised repairs, modifications, or system updates.
- Repairs performed using Customer-supplied parts (labour-only jobs).
2.3 When the Warranty Becomes Void
The warranty becomes
void if:
- The device is dropped, cracked, or physically damaged after the repair.
- The device is exposed to water, liquid, or moisture after the repair.
- The device is opened or tampered with by anyone other than iRepair Experts or the manufacturer.
- Any physical or internal damage occurs to the replaced parts after repair.
- The issue results from misuse, neglect, overheating, dust, or environmental exposure.
- The repair involved Customer-supplied parts.
If a device suffers accidental or liquid damage after repair,
all warranty coverage is immediately voided.
2.4 Replacement Part Coverage
If a part is replaced under warranty, it will be covered for the remaining time of the original 12-month warranty period.
The warranty does not restart after replacement.
2.5 How to Make a Warranty Claim
To make a warranty claim:
- Bring your device and original repair receipt to iRepair Experts.
- Our technician will assess whether the issue qualifies under warranty.
- If approved, the repair or replacement will be completed free of charge.
- If not covered, we will explain why and provide a quote for non-warranty repairs.
By proceeding with a repair, you agree that accidental damage, liquid exposure, or the use of customer-supplied parts will
void all warranty coverage.
3. Service Fees and Quotes
1. Quotes are provided upfront but may be revised if new issues are found during inspection.
2. Inspection fees for rejected quotes:
- $20 for mobile phones
- $30 for tablets
- $50 for laptops
3. If the device cannot be repaired successfully, these same fees apply unless you choose to forfeit the device.
4. If a website promotion or pricing error occurs, iRepair Experts will waive the inspection fee.
4. Repairs
1. iRepair Experts repairs phones, tablets, laptops, and other devices.
2. Using a third-party repairer (like iRepair Experts) may void the manufacturer’s warranty, waterproof rating, or post-service support.
3. We may use your SIM card during testing as part of the repair process.
4. If technician damage occurs, iRepair Experts may, at its discretion, repair, replace, or reimburse up to the market value of the device at the time of repair.
5. iRepair Experts is not liable for:
- Devices already affected by impact or liquid damage prior to service;
- Repairs using Customer-supplied parts;
- Devices that were disassembled before arriving at our store;
- Additional underlying faults discovered after the initial inspection.
6. Turnaround times (TAT) are estimates and may vary based on parts, repair complexity, or workload.
7. If new parts are required, the Customer will be notified and given a revised completion date.
8. Parts may be new or refurbished depending on availability. Cosmetic parts are always new unless specified.
9. Discounts or offers are at iRepair Experts’ discretion.
5. Loan Equipment
1. Loan devices may be offered during the repair process, subject to availability.
2. Loan devices are free to use but must be returned in the same condition.
3. Lost, damaged, or altered loan devices will incur a replacement fee.
6. Data Loss
1. iRepair Experts is not responsible for any data loss, including contacts, photos, videos, or settings.
2. We recommend that Customers back up all data before repair.
3. Backups will only be performed upon request and noted on your receipt.
4. Even when backups are attempted, full data recovery cannot be guaranteed.
5. The Customer remains responsible for all data before and after repair.
7. Privacy
1. All personal information shared with iRepair Experts is kept confidential and used only for repair-related purposes.
2. Customer emails may be added to our mailing list for service updates or promotions (you may unsubscribe at any time).
3. Personal data may be disclosed if required by law or by law enforcement authorities.
8. Non-Standard Repairs
Liquid-Damage Repairs
- Liquid-damage restoration is performed at your own risk.
- There is no guarantee of long-term functionality after liquid-damage repairs.
- A $49 inspection fee applies if the device cannot be repaired.
- A 30-day limited warranty applies to liquid-damage repairs only.
Glass-Only Repairs
- Glass-only repairs on fused screens are not recommended by manufacturers.
- Minor imperfections such as dust or adhesive residue may occur.
- A 30-day limited warranty applies to touch and display functionality only.
- By approving a glass-only repair, the Customer acknowledges that the manufacturer’s warranty may be void.
9. Unclaimed Goods
1. Devices will be released only with a valid iRepair Experts receipt.
2. Devices left uncollected for over 30 days after completion or quotation may be considered forfeited and recycled.
3. iRepair Experts is not responsible if a third party collects a device with a valid receipt.
4. If incorrect contact details are provided or no response is received within 30 days, the device will be forfeited.
10. Limitation of Liability
1. iRepair Experts is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including data loss, downtime, or lost income.
2. The total liability of iRepair Experts will not exceed the market value of the device at the time it was received.
3. We are not responsible for faults caused by third-party software, updates, or unauthorised changes.
11. Entire Agreement
These terms form the entire agreement between iRepair Experts and the Customer, replacing all prior understandings or discussions relating to our repair services.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and any disputes shall be handled by the courts of Queensland.
