An iPhone XS brought in for a "slow phone" or random shutdown almost always has a battery sitting around 60-72% of original capacity. iOS imposes a maximum-performance cap below 80% — that cap lifts the moment we replace the cell. We use cells that report capacity accurately to Settings → Battery (cheap aftermarket cells often display "?" or trigger Service warnings even when healthy).
Face ID on the iPhone XS relies on a TrueDepth sensor cluster across the top of the display assembly. When we replace the screen we transfer that flex onto the new panel — done correctly Face ID continues to work, done with the wrong tooling and you get a permanent "Face ID not active" notice.
