MacBook Pro 13" Touch ID — paired to the logic board for life
The MacBook Pro 13"'s home button is cryptographically paired to its logic board. If the original button breaks, Touch ID stops working permanently — Apple's security design, not a fault. We transfer the original home-button flex across on every screen replacement so the customer keeps fingerprint unlock. If the button itself is broken we can install a working "home" key (the click works, the fingerprint sensor doesn't) so the device still navigates the home screen.
MacBook Pro 13" LCD repair — why this one's cheaper than OLED models
The MacBook Pro 13" uses an in-plane-switching LCD instead of OLED, which keeps the screen-replacement cost noticeably lower than later iPhones. The trade-off: LCDs are more sensitive to backlight drop after a knock, even when the front glass looks intact. We always test for backlight uniformity before the customer leaves the shop — about 1 in 8 MacBook Pro 13" screens we replace have a damaged LCD layer hidden under untouched glass.
MacBook Pro 13" MagSafe 3 — the magnet pulls dust onto the connector
MagSafe 3 on the MacBook Pro 13" restored the safety break Apple removed during the USB-C-only years (yank the cable, lose the laptop). The trade-off: the magnetic ring attracts pocket lint and metal dust over time. A 30-second clean restores fast charging when the laptop suddenly drops to slow-charge mode. Free as part of any service.
Before booking a MacBook Pro 13" — Find My / Activation Lock check
A MacBook Pro 13" signed in to your Apple ID is straightforward for us to repair. But if the device is locked to a previous owner's account (common with marketplace buys) we can't bypass it — the right fix is to sign in with the original owner's iCloud password and disable Find My. We run this check at intake in under a minute so nothing wastes your time on the bench.

Trackpad stops clicking — that's a swollen battery
Most 2018-2020 MacBook Pros that come in for 'trackpad won't click' actually have a swollen battery pushing up from below. Replacement uses OEM-grade cells with the correct adhesive frame, then we re-calibrate with `pmset`.

Liquid spill — first 24 hours matter
M1/M2 logic boards have very dense rails — a small spill can short multiple before you notice. Don't try to power it on. We ultrasonic-clean the affected area and do component-level rebuild; ~70% of cases recover.

Post-2022 MacBook Air keyboards are riveted to the top case, not screwed. A single dead key means a top-case-and-battery replacement. We're honest about this upfront — sometimes a clean fixes the symptom; if not we'll quote properly.
